and via regional and alternative networks

Not forgetting 4G and 5G mobile data, from Orange or SFR.

    Who are we?

MilkyWan is an association that runs its own network, AS2027. It provides internet access to its subscribers (fibre, 4G and 5G, tunnels) and services to other operators: IP transit, Lan2Lan, hosting.

Our subscribers are mostly individuals, associations and very small organisations, often with an interest in technology. They vote at the general assembly and elect their representatives to the board.

The association has no employees and no paid contractors. The volunteers who run it are network and systems engineers, working in their spare time, and what we earn is reinvested in the infrastructure and in the projects we support.

    A MilkyWan rack

MilkyWan is an operator registered with ARCEP (code MILK) with its own IP resources (AS2027).

IPv6 is fully deployed on our network. To keep traffic local, we peer on several regional and national IXPs, including nine, France-IX, CIXP and LillIX.

All of our services are hosted on our own hypervisors and storage servers, which form several Proxmox clusters. This infrastructure is redundant (dedicated network at n × 10 Gbit/s or 40 Gbit/s, geographic diversity, NVMe…).
